This is a resource that an English teacher from the 8th grade gave to us as part of the writing portion of the class. You may find it very useful.

NanoWrimo and other competitions

NanoWrimo 2007 Participant logo

In 2007, my first year attempting NanoWrimo, work requirements got in the way, despite my best efforts.

However, I DID manage to write 10,564 words in about 7 days, which was very much on track.

In 2008, I finished. I had a completely different job that allowed me to actually have a life (that I can forgo for the novel).

Blog Action Day 2008 logo

This project addresses a single issue each year . This years' topic was Poverty. Having had some experience in the matter, I submitted a piece in about 30 minutes on the last day of the event. It can be found at http://www.greymatterideas.com/php_uploads/wordpress/?p=38

Note: the blog is experiencing some technical issues, so it's not available at this time.

Technical

I am currently working on a book called "Web Master Essentials". It encompasses a year of re-education on the art and science of web design and the material was tested in the classroom with a program of 30 days of training to take people from novice to webmaster. I graduated 5 people, two of whom are CIW Certified Master Web Site Managers, which was the goal of the program. E-mail me at brian@greymatterideas.com for more details, or to get on the notification list when it's complete.

Note: The focus of the book may be changing... still deciding...
