Technical Trainer, Training Manager

10/2004 - Present ~ Computer Tutors, Tallahassee, FL

    Instructed thousands of happy clients in the proper use of a wide variety of Networking and Desktop Operating Systems, Office Productivity, Web Design and Graphic Design software, in both a lab classroom environment and at the clients’ location. Developed a Web Master Track, designed to allow students to pursue CIW Certification at the Master Web Site Manager level. Promoted to Training Manager, where responsibilities include: scheduling classes, managing full time staff and numerous part time and contract trainers. Assisted the marketing department in the creation of artwork for promotional materials. Supplied the music for a television commercial. Consulted for a variety of clients for topics ranging from graphic design to audio production packages to video editing. Redesigned the company website, making it compliant to Section 508 and WCAG Priority Level 1 Standards, as well as validating properly. Developed custom classes, based on student needs. Administered IIS 6 and Exchange 2003 Servers.

    Designed numerous postcards that were mailed out weekly to prospective clients. Designed the logo and animated Flash graphic for the website www.thebrauncompanies.com. Fixed the layout for a new car giveaway entry form for Kia Autosport. Changed web hosting companies and moved e-mail, address books and website content.

    Instructed over 30 Students in playing Drums or Bass Guitar. Developed curriculum for both instruments. Modified lesson plans based on student needs.

Deployment Technician

8/2003 - 3/2004 ~ Networks Plus Technology Group, San Diego CA,

    Deployed new Dell desktops to clients in the entire Navy and Marine Corps. Promoted to Technical Lead position within two days of the project beginning. Assigned to sweep team to ensure complete end user satisfaction. Interacted with team members and technical/team leads from other contractors to resolve issues as they come up. Earned DCSE Certification on Dell Desktops and Portables within 3 months of the beginning of the project.

    Provided telephone support for Internet connectivity for most versions of Windows (Windows 95 through Windows XP). Also provided support from Macintosh System 8.5 and greater.     Support and maintain multiple networks, ranging in size from a small three office LAN with some ISDN access, to a county wide WAN for the Santa Rosa County School District. Administer Exchange 5.5 servers, multiple BDC's acting as DHCP servers, two DNS servers, and multiple WINS servers. Help support the Data Processing staff technicians as problems with NT and Windows 95 arise. Help plan new network configurations and implementations for the future. Test new software and operating systems for the district.

5/1998 - 12/1999 ~ New Horizons Computer Learning Center, Pensacola, FL

    Instructed over 1000 happy clients in the proper use of a wide variety of Networking and Desktop Operating Systems, Office Productivity and Graphic Design software, usually with very little time for preparation, in both a lab classroom environment and at the clients’ location. Achieved Instructor of the Month for June 1998 and March 1999. Achieved higher than a 9 overall average evaluation score for each quarter as determined by the clients. Was appointed the Classroom Load Supervisor, responsible for ensuring that the correct classes were loaded into the proper rooms in a timely manner. Developed written procedures for loading certain software for new incoming instructors, saving time and effort and reducing frustration. Modified the first Trimester schedule for 1999. Wrote the booklet for an Introduction to Scanning Course. Developed the logo and business cards for a child company.

National Technical Advisor

12/1995 - 5/1998 ~ Express Print International, Inc., Pensacola, FL

Wrote most of the HiMarx Franchisee Technical Manual. Developed the Training Outline for new Franchisees. Trained new Dealers over the phone and trained Franchisees in person. Kept the Technical department down to two people, even though dealer base grew from 130 dealers to over 500 within two years. Conducted numerous training sessions in two annual conventions for the Dealer Base. Provided technical support and software "how to" support over the phone to over 500 dealers over a two year period. Designed instructional material in support of those Dealers and Franchisees. Translated proprietary documents into PDF files for use on a Franchisee Support web-site, disabling the modification of the data to preserve the integrity of the Franchise system. Designed miscellaneous forms for a Business Opportunity/Franchise company. Designed new samples for a Business Opportunity company. Researched and wrote monthly technical reports for the Dealers. Researched and developed new technologies, software and procedures for the Dealer base and for the Franchise.
