2009's attempt is called "The Trials of Elijah Marcus Ash " , a follow up to 2008's submission. (50, 176 words in 28 days)

In 2008, I finished. I had a completely different job that allowed me to actually have a life (that I could forgo for the novel).

In 2007, my first year attempting NanoWrimo, work requirements got in the way, despite my best efforts.

However, I DID manage to write 10,564 words in about 7 days, which was very much on track.

This project addresses a single issue each year . This years' topic was Poverty. Having had some experience in the matter, I submitted a piece in about 30 minutes on the last day of the event. It can be found at http://www.greymatterideas.com/php_uploads/wordpress/?p=38
