Design Samples

This was a Magazine design assignment for Graphic Design II. I found a magazine called Top Model, which needed some work. I redesigned the logo in Freehand on a Macintosh, then exported it to Pagemaker 5. The photos of the feature story model were shot by me in Commercial Photography, the rest were scanned in from the actual magazine. Image editing was done in Photoshop 2.5. The layout was output to an inkjet printer and mounted for presentation. This particular series was featured in the Spring Student Honors Exhibition at Pensacola Junior College March 28- April 26, 1996.
Poster Design
This project required that we pick a theme of movies ( westerns,
several films by the same actor, trilogies etc.) and design a poster advertising
ALL of them. I chose StarWars. It ended up being so good that when
I showed the finished product to a friend of mine, he actually thought
that he missed the showing of the StarWars Trilogy!
(Ironically, this was
about a year before the actual trilogy was re-released on the wide screen!)
Business Imagery and Design
This selection is some coupons designed for a local Subway owner
to assist in promoting regional Subway stores along with the Pensacola
Ice Pilots.
The Pensacola Ice Pilots, by the way, are an East Coast Hockey
League team who went all the way to the Kelly Cup Semifinals before losing
in Game 5, and this happened in their first season!!

Then we have a promotional flyer for a brand new machine. In addition to redesigning the flyer, I also shot photographs of the machine, converted them to line drawings and rewrote and redesigned the manufacturer's instructions for the machine itself, so that users could learn how to operate it faster and easier. The manufacturer has adopted my instructions, thereby making it easier to use, boosting sales of the unit.
